Guru Venkataramu

Guru is an amateur actor and director based in Dallas, with a lifelong passion for theater. His involvement in theater began at an early age, performing in school and community productions, a pursuit that continued through college. He had the privilege of participating in street dramas in Bengaluru under the mentorship of Professor Kumar and renowned theater personality Sri A. S. Murthy. Influenced by the vibrant theater scene of 1990s Bengaluru, Guru was fortunate to witness legends like Sri B.V. Karanth in action at venues such as H.N. Kalakshetra. While his international travels expanded his horizons, he maintained his passionate spirit for Kannada theater. He has directed several plays for Tokyo Kannada Balaga, showcasing his dedication to the arts.

Since relocating to the US in 2016, Guru has actively contributed to the Kannada community in Dallas. He has served as the Secretary of Mallige Kannada Sangha (Dallas - Fort Worth Area) and remains an avid Kannada reader, regularly participating in literary activities.
