About the event
VESHA is an intimate one-hour theatre production born from a five-year research journey across Karnataka. Through conversations with more than 50 Yakshagana artists and visits to over 20 traditional melas, the play offers a deeply personal exploration of the lives, memories, and artistic spirit of the remarkable Stree Patradhaaris (female-role performers) of Yakshagana. Blending research, storytelling, and lived experience, VESHA invites audiences into the hidden world behind the makeup, costume, and performance—celebrating a timeless art form and the people who keep it alive.
